Origami

I have started learning origami as a 'creativity' part of my CAS program because I found it pretty interesting and challenging activity.
Origami is basically making all sorts of shapes out of paper, not using scissors or glue. It is very relaxing but difficult at the same time. When learning this new skill, I had to show a lot of perseverance, because you have to be very patient and accurate when doing origami, as sometimes you have to flip or twist very small bits of paper.
Origami is interesting, and another its benefit is that it can be a creative present, for example I've made my brother a bird from paper, and even though he is just 5 years old, he was very impressed. I had to show a lot of creativity when making a present for my brother, because origami is not an ordinary thing to do. I liked origami, and I am happy that I have learned this new skill.

Continuing learning piano

About half a year ago I have started learning playing piano, and I continue doing it. My level is not very good yet, but I am already happy with what I have achieved. Learning to play piano is difficult, that is why I have to show a lot of perseverance by being constantly patient on my lessons, doing my homework properly.
My best friend has a band, named " Мертвые Оладушки", it is russian, and I can't really translate the name into english. Alexey has suggested me to play in their band, but before I can actually be a part of their band, we had a some sort of a checking me show in "Blur" bar on 27th of May. As I showed a lot of creativity, they liked the way I played, and I hope I can continue working with them, but unfortunately I had to stop playing for a short period of time to concentrate on my final IB exams.

Gym, swimming and running

I am continuing to follow my training regime, as an 'action' part of my CAS. I continue going to the swimming pool and gym every weekend to "Marina Club", I have improved my swimming skills, and I am happy that IB diploma program has motivated me to be more active by adding some sport to my life. I keep on visiting gym, and I am happy to see its effect on my health, I haven't caught a cold since the beginning of the year.
Also, as a part of my CAS program, I run in Marina Club and at home. I have improved my running skills, I feel it because I simply run longer and faster now that I used to before. By continuing doing sport activities I show my perseverance, because it is difficult to make yourself wake up on weekends.

Tennis competition

On 16th of June, I had a tennis competition in my tennis club "Ace". It has started at 10 am and has lasted till about 4 pm. On Saturday, there were about 100 participants in the beginning and about 20 were left at the end of the day. Fortunately, I was one of those 20 players, who have stayed for the next round.
On 17th June, Sunday, at 10 am the competition has continued. I have been improving my tennis skills for the whole year, as an 'action' part of my CAS. This challenge has shown that I has shown a lot of perseverance through out my tennis lessons, because as a result, I got a second place.
I have shown my tennis skills in a challenging competition, and I am very happy with the result.

Cleaning the park

I live in the north part of Moscow, and I have a nice park, named Druzjba( Дружба ), next to my place. It is big and beautiful, which a small attraction area, ponds, fountains and statues. Unfortunately, there are people who do not appreciate the beauty of the park, and as the result, you can find a lot of rubbish and waste all around the sitting areas.
As a CAS service project, I have decided to go cleaning the rubbish in my park. I just simply took a big plastic bag and rubber gloves. It took my only about 2 or 3 hours to make the park area, which is near to my house, look good, by  taking away all the rubbish. As I showed caring, global awareness( as in opposition to spoiling the natural habitats) and perseverance, I hope I have inspired the pedestrians to help keep the nature clean, or to at least stop littering.

Itsra Trip

From 4th to 6th of June our school has organized a field trip to the Istra, a town next to Moscow, as a group four project. I, being a physicist, had to do 11 experiments. It had to be a group work, because the time was limited, so we had to work collaboratively. Personally, I took part in doing 8 experiments, I have collected some data, which has followed a particular pattern, depending on the nature of the experiment. We were open-minded, because we had to take into account the experimental errors, which had to be evaluated in our  physics internal assessment.

I have learned some new skills, like making fire using the sun or using the sun to cool down water, etc. Preparing the experiments we had to be creative, showing our perseverance.
